Babies R Us holds shower event in Edmonton

Babies R Us Canada, a subsidiary of Toys R Us Canada, conducted a promotion in Edmonton yesterday called "R Big Baby Shower." The promotional event took the form of a baby shower for several hundred new and expectant mothers who won invitations in an online contest. Attendees received hand massages, gift bags and ice cream with pickles, followed by a movie screening from Cineplex Odeon. The event also included prize giveaways and interactive games.
"We wanted to recognize all the hard work moms do and give them the royal treatment for the afternoon," said Liz MacDonald, vice-president of marketing and store planning at Babies R Us Canada. "With the busy upcoming holiday season, 'R Big Baby Shower' was the perfect way for Edmonton soon-to-be and new moms to relax while learning about this year's must-have baby gear."
