Laval hires Quebecor to handle transit shelter advertising

The Societe de transport de Laval has signed a 20-year agreement with Quebecor for the management of its transit shelter advertising inventory. The agreement will go into effect on Aug. 1. Quebecor will take over the advertising operations for Laval's current 101 bus shelters, as well as new shelters to be built in the future. Quebecor will also install five interactive shelters with 84-inch screens and gesture recognition sensors. Users of these screens will be able to view bus schedules and transit maps, as well as advertising.
"This contract with STL is great news," said Claude Foisy, vice-president of Quebecor Media Out of Home. "We already manage Montreal's network of transit shelters, and now we can offer our clients a much wider array of out-of-home advertising options. From small local businesses to large national firms, it's a great advertising platform that really gets you close to consumers."
