Tonight debuts new website

Toronto-based Tonight Newspaper has launched a redesigned website at <http://www.tonightnews.ca>. The site makes use of a responsive design that adapts to mobile or desktop browsers. Its content includes breaking news, sports, entertainment, event listings and video items. The site also offers a number of new advertising options, including splash screens, video ads and takeovers. Shaw Media, CHCH and the City of Toronto have signed-on as launch advertisers.
"As other newspapers focus on paywalls, Tonight takes advantage of these new barriers for readers and delivers the news in the free format that readers expect, with the ease of any device, smartphone, tablet or desktop," said Tonight publisher John Cameron.
The company is promoting its new website with an advertising campaign consisting of print, digital and broadcast elements. The company describes the campaign as the largest in the history of the publication.
