Website roundup

The Fédération des producteurs de porcs du Québec has launched a new website at <http://www.leporcduquebec.com>. The updated site is intended to be more accessible and provide more information about the province's pork industry. The site, which is aimed primarily at consumers, also contains recipes, a game, health information, industry news and a classified advertising section. The site was developed by Odacia. "Our new Internet portal is a major promotional tool for pork producers," said federation president Jean-Guy Vincent. "The FPPQ has been on the web for a long time, but as Internet media have changed and evolved substantially in the past few years, it was time we adapted." The federation is promoting the site through social networking activities, as well as through a contest. Visitors can enter by submitting video of a "daring" recipe that includes Quebec pork. The winner will receive dinner for two in either Montreal or Quebec City.
