GiantHydra.com launches online creative collaboration service

A new web-based service called GiantHydra.com has launched in Toronto. The service, which operates similarly to a social networking site, is primarily intended to allow advertising agencies to hire participating creative personnel to collaborate on a specific project. An agency can browse the profiles of members and select those which seem most useful for a given task. Members who accept the assignment will then work together on the project in an online environment. Each participant will be paid on completion on a project basis. "When engaged in an important pitch or big client project, ad agencies will now be able to tap into a collective and collaborative pool of concept developers that will provide ideas and executions in quantity and quality that could not be matched by traditional in-house teams," said company president Ignacio Oreamuno. "GiantHydra will unite a living, breathing community of creative professionals who not only create new ideas and executions, but work together, building upon each others' concepts in ways too difficult to achieve in a real-world office environment. A TV idea created by someone in Stockholm could be developed into a social media campaign by someone in Buenos Aires and into a web viral by someone in Seattle. The possibilities are endless."
