Samsung promotes televisions to sports fans

Samsung Electronics Canada of Mississauga, ON has begun a new advertising campaign for its line of high-definition television sets. The campaign consists of print ads in the Globe and Mail, National Post and Toronto Star, as well as other regional newspapers nationally. The creative features four professional football players: Troy Aikman, Boomer Esiason, Dan Marino and Steve Young. "Sports enthusiasts everywhere will immediately recognize these players and associate the ultimate high-definition television experience with the Samsung brand," said Andrew Dorcas, senior manager of consumer electronics marketing at Samsung. The ads use the tagline "Watch like the pros with Samsung HDTV." The Canadian campaign has been adapted from U.S. materials to include the limited-time offer of a free DVD player with the purchase of certain TV sets.
