Subaru hires DDB Canada

Subaru Canada of Mississauga has appointed Toronto-based DDB Canada its national agency of record. This is the first time the car maker has had a national AOR in this country. Previously its advertising was handled by a pool of agencies. This pool did not include DDB Canada, which won the assignment in a review involving an unknown number of firms. The agency is now responsible for the company's national and dealer advertising, plus English-language media buying. In Quebec Subaru will continue to use Groupe Rinaldi. "As we continue the innovation and expansion of our product lines in Canada, we need to communicate the Subaru brand in a way that's relevant and unified," said Norio Osakabe, president and CEO of Subaru Canada. "Having all marketing services under one roof makes it easier for us to speak with one voice across all disciplines."
