FAMILY CHANNEL, BULLYING.ORG CONDUCT SECOND AWARENESS CAMPAIGN
By Adnews Staff
Family Channel of Toronto and Bullying.org Canada, based in Cochrane, AB, have begun a campaign for their second annual national bullying awareness week, which began on Monday. The campaign invites young people to pledge themselves to intervene against bullies, with the aim of illustrating the part played by bystanders in bullying situations. A new public service announcement has been created for this year's campaign by Decode Entertainment called "The Cool Table." Two announcements from last year's campaign, called "Red Head" and "The Pledge," are also being used. Young people can also visit a "Take the Pledge" section at the Family Channel Web site for information about handling bullies. The channel will air themed programming each day during the week, and schools will conduct special events. The campaign and the awareness week will end on Nov. 21.
