AIR CANADA DEBUTS REDESIGN AND ADVERTISING

Montreal-based Air Canada conducted several events yesterday to unveil new graphical elements and colours for its airplanes, new staff uniforms and new advertising. The aircraft designs were done by FutureBrand Worldwide. The design uses a red maple leaf on the tail of the plane with a pattern of green dots. The new uniforms, created by fashion designer Debbie Shuchat, are dark blue with silver linings. The advertising, produced by Marketel, uses the song "You and I were meant to fly" by Celine Dion. Television and radio advertising will begin tomorrow. Air Canada will also conduct a cooperative ad campaign with the Canadian Tourism Commission. That campaign will use print and broadcast ads to promote Canada as a travel destination in markets outside the country. The advertising will be released in various areas, including the U.S. and Great Britain, early next year.
