AFM CHECKS IN WITH BOZELL
By Adnews Staff
AFM Hospitality of Toronto is getting its Howard Johnson Hotels in Canada back into advertising and has hired Bozell Palmer Bonner of Toronto to do the job. Bozell won the acount earlier this month in a competition with one other agency. "Bozell demonstrated to us that they have the retail knowledge, the consumer insight and all the resources necessary to help us reach our goals," AFM president Stephen Phillips said in a release that went out yesterday. Agency chairman Liz Torlée said the company hasn't advertised for a couple of years. Instead it hired companies to do sales promotions on a project basis. Now AFM wants to project a new, consistent image for the hotels, said Torlée, and advertising is the way to accomplish that aim. AFM operates 35 hotels in Canada.
