PEPSI-COLA CANADA READIES SUPER BOWL ADS
By Adnews Staff
Pepsi-Cola Canada of Mississauga will run three television ads during Sunday's broadcast of the Super Bowl on Global TV. All three commercials are 30-seconds in length and were created by BBDO New York. The first will promote Pepsi Twist and diet Pepsi Twist. In it, rock musician Ozzy Osbourne dreams that his children Jack and Kelly have turned into Donny and Marie Osmond. When he wakes up he discovers that he is in bed with Florence Henderson of The Brady Bunch. The ad will run during the first half of the game and again during half time. The other two ads are in association with Frito-Lay. They depict football fans watching a game on TV while consuming Pepsi and Lay's potato chips. One ad shows a group of friends trying not to get too close to each other on the couch. In the second, a father, mother and son try to agree on a favourite team. The Pepsi/Frito-Lay spots, which will air during half time, support a current promotional campaign running nationally in Canadian retail stores. During this initiative consumers can win prizes intended to enhance the Super Bowl experience, including wide-screen TVs, Pepsi and Lay's potato chips. Public relations for Pepsi-Cola Canada are handled by Praxis Public Relations of Mississauga.
