By Adnews Staff
Montreal-based National Public Relations is acquiring Vancouver-based Labrador Communications. Financial details of the agreement have not been disclosed. Labrador's operations will be merged with National's Vancouver office. In the short term the agencies will continue to operate in their respective offices, however the two agencies will combine in one location over the summer months. Labrador's 11 employees will join National's staff of ten. Labrador's co-founders, Marcia Smith and Randy Wood, will become managing partner and senior vice-president respectively of what is temporarily being called National Labrador. Once the acquisition is complete the agency will operate under the National name. National also has offices in Calgary, Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, Quebec City and New York. Luc Beauregard, founding chairman and chief executive officer of the public and government relations consulting firm said the acquisition of Labrador was in line with National's growth strategy.
