SEARS CEO DEPARTS

Sears Canada has appointed Mark Cohen to succeed Paul Walters as chairman and chief executive officer. Walters is said to be leaving the company to pursue outside opportunities. Cohen joins Toronto-based Sears Canada from Sears, Roebuck and Co. in the U.S. where he has served as president of softlines and chief marketing officer since September 1999.
