HIGH ROAD LOGS ONTO EATSLEEPMUSIC.COM

High Road Communications of Ottawa has added another dot.com company to its client roster, becoming public relations agency-of-record for eatsleepmusic.com. Based in Ottawa, eatsleepmusic.com is an Internet entertainment company that allows users to turn their PC into a singing centre, offering software, songs, a Karaoke player and singing lessons. The company chose High Road after speaking with two additional public relation firms in New York. Eatsleepmusic.com was founded four years ago but re-positioned itself last year. The company had been without an agency prior to appointing High Road, handling the account in-house. Rick Doyon, managing partner at High Road Communications, said the agency has already begun working on a public and media relations campaign focused primarily for the U.S. market. George McTaggart, vice president of marketing at eatsleepmusic.com, said 60% of the company's business is in the U.S., so eatsleepmusic.com wants to raise its profile there, initially with public relations activities and in the next three to six months with advertising. High Road's Ottawa office will be handling the account with support from its Toronto location. Later this year, when the agency opens its new San Francisco office, High Road will add support from that office to the account as well. The San Francisco office will be High Road's first presence in the U.S. Many of the company's clients are Canadian companies doing U.S. public relations work, Doyon said, and the new office will assist the agency in meeting those needs as well as allow High Road to be closer to its U.S.-based clients.
