SEARS EXPECTING SUCCESSFUL EATONS RE-LAUNCH
By Adnews Staff
Sears Canada has announced the company expects the fall re-launch of the eatons chain to bring in $1-billion in sales annually, within three years, according to an article in the National Post. Speaking at the company's annual meeting, Paul Walters, chairman and chief executive officer of Sears told shareholders eatons would make "positive earnings contribution within its first full year of operation." Sears purchased the eatons chain after eatons file for bankruptcy protection last fall. Seven eatons stores, a new catalogue and company Web site will re-launch this fall and will all feature the new corporate identity Sears debuted earlier this month. The new corporate identity includes the redesign of the company logo and the selection of aubergine, a shade of deep purple as the primary logo color. The logo will be seen on all of eatons promotional materials, its Web site, in its new catalogue and on the exterior of all seven stores.
