Downtown Yonge BIA readies Remembrance Day display

The Downtown Yonge Business Improvement Area in Toronto will conduct an initiative called “Colour of Courage” on Remembrance Day. The effort will consist of a pathway made of 3,000 poppies at College Park leading to scultures of soldiers, as well as a display of artworks on the digital billboards at Yonge-Dundas Square. The 12-minute presentation will also be streamed live on Facebook. Media space will be donated by Astral Media, Branded Cities, Outfront Media, Rogers Communication and Yonge-Dundas Square.

“This installation commemorates all of the heroes, of various backgrounds and cultures, who have served Canada,” said Downtown Yonge BIA chief operating officer Mark Garner. “We ask shoppers, visitors, residents and businesses stop for a moment, both before and on Remembrance Day, to reflect and to acknowledge the tremendous sacrifice of those who fought for and defended our country.”
